This photo was taken while waist deep in the waves at Wilder Ranch in Santa Cruz, CA. One of my favorite weather conditions to shoot in is overcast and cloudy. This helps create a natural, soft light with beautiful tonal qualities.

While working on an architecture article for a digital magazine layout I was creating, I was inspired to take photographs of the subject itself: San Jose City Hall. This building has a unique geometric architecture that called for some photos from a new perspective. This photo was one of the favorites I took and also served as the magazine cover.

One of my favorite things to do is to set up my camera on the tripod and take self-portraits using the timer on my camera. The idea that I have to imagine myself in the composition before I can see it come to life is something that really excites me. I often see a spot, and think to myself how I would stand or sit in the landscape. I visited this green house and instantly imagined the attire I would wear and what rows of flowers or trees I would stand in and what time of day.

My favorite beach is just north of Davenport, CA. Waddel Creek Beach has one of the largest stretches of beach to walk across. If you can get there around low tide, all of the rocks reveal what seems to be an alien landscape with seemingly endless tidepools.

This shot was taken at the Meow Wolf installation at the Oregon Eclipse festival. I saw this group of people standing and laughing as they were illuminated by the flickering lights. I couldn't resist but to capture a moment of pure joy and connection amidst the festival madness.

One of the most beautiful sunsets I had ever seen occured on a playful Sunday at Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz, CA. Collectively my friends and I stopped to take a moment to admire the Sun as it set just beneath the Santa Cruz cityscape.

The Alviso Salt Flats are a great spot for birdwatching. The landscape there is quite barren, but it also provides a serene beauty. Although I was hoping to see the salt flats a bit more dried out, I couldn't help but admire the large stretches of flat land and open water juxtaposed with the city and mountains in the far off distance.

After a long day at the beach, the Sun had set and for only a few minutes the sky turned the most beautiful shades of pinks and blues. Just before leaving I waded into the water one last time to capture this final photo of the day.
